Along a seventy-mile stretch of Mexico's Pacific shore, four towns include seemingly every stripe of simpatico beach getaway. Surfing, ecotourism, hippie chic, and luxe family all coexist—and, blessedly, without any crowds.Condé Nast Traveller

Trip Advisor Honors Huatulco with the #6 position on its 2010 List of Top 10 Beach & Sun Destinations in the World.TripAdvisor
Huatulco stretches 22 miles along nine bays between the Coyula and Copalita rivers. It lies about 300 miles east of Acapulo, but there are no bunched-up high-rise hotel strips to mar the scenery, just soft sands, clear ocean, striking cliffs and dense forest.New York Times

Nestled in the tropical location of Bahias de Huatulco, is a gem of a golf course, Club de Golf Tangolunda. Gemlike because of it's emerald St. Augustine fairways and Bermuda greens, and the many faceted challenges that make this a golfer's dream.

Although, it's not the likes of a Fazio, Trent Jones, Nicklas, or Norman design, it provides sufficient variety to keep even the lowest of handicappers entertained. There are a few "trick" holes, with large trees guarding the greens, due to a directive put in place to save these 100 year old specimens. However this should just get your creative shot making juices flowing.
The canals that run along a few of the fairways and the "OB" forests garner their fair share of balls, but for the most part the fairways are open. For the ladies there are a couple of holes that might give you difficulty because of the length to cross the various water hazards and the bunkers surrounding the greens.
The signature hole is #13 , a very long par 5 dog leg to the right with an elevated green. Please, once you arrive greenside, take the time to enjoy the view, it is quite breathtaking. The number 14 tee box will still be there when you arrive.
Beverages available for purchase to take on the course and usually a beverage cart will be on the course as well. Good snack food menu.
For those non golfing spouses who are permitted to accompany their "other halves", you'll have a wonderful ride/walk under the canopy of enormous trees while experiencing nature's finest creatures living on the course. There is a myriad of waterfowl and colorful land birds, iguana, turtles, and butterflies that will give you plenty to look at, other than those 18 foot putts that seem to so often, "just rim the cup". Enjoy.
Golfing in Huatulco at the amazing Club de Golf Tangolunda makes for a great vacation activity. With great views and a challenging course – what more could you ask for from a day of golf?
Tip #1: Huatulco is hot – not that this is surprising – so if you plan to golf this tournament, BE PREPARED FOR THE HEAT. Whether this means choosing an early tee off or opting for a cart, you will be glad you planned ahead.
Tip #2: Along the same lines, be sure to stay hydrated, dehydration is extremely dangerous in this heat.
Tip #3: Another helpful tip is to apply copious amounts of bug repellent prior to your tee off – there's nothing worse than being pestered by bugs as you're trying to focus.
